Wed Night I Played at the Skybox as my weekly night

Friday I went to Ramona and hung out with Spencer Bezy of Mobile Music Plus, who was providing karaoke for Jesika from The Abby Catering. It was a family party she has put together and invited me to come hang out. All I have to say is that it was very very interesting! It also reminded me why I do not provide Karaoke Services, haha

Saturday I was at Harrahs Casino to DJ a wedding for Scott and Deanna Yakabowski. They were a really fun group of people, and things were rollin so well that they somehow ended up being 45 minutes ahead of schedule. Which was perfect for this crowd because they danced and danced and danced some more! I had someone take video for me so as soon as I can get it together I will post up the video from this wedding.

I worked with a Photographer name Dale Hameister, who was the assistant to the main photographer but I dont know her name or website because she did not give me a card. I will try to get a hold of the clients in a few weeks to see if they can provide me with the photographers name.

This wedding had a lot of LED uplighting, I hope the video came out well enough and hopefully the Photographer took some good photos of the uplighting so I can use it

Chris and Amanda had one of the greatest parties ever. One of the best 4th of July Celebrations I think I have ever been to. Even tho there was only about 50 People, the entire group of family and friends literally rocked the house. The wedding took place at the Manchester Grand Hyatt in Downtown San Diego, and in the middle of the reception everyone went outside to watch the firework show.. What more could a bride ask for. A wedding Celebration as well as a really nice firework show.

Thank you to Debbie Quin the Wedding Coordinator from To have & To Hold (951-541-4560) for matching my services up with this lovely couple. I had a fantastic time, and I have to believe the guests did as well. The Photographer was Tim Otto and both him and his assistant were a great pleasure to work with!

Tuesday
I met with the owner of The Abbey Catering to discuss an offer they had presented to me about working with them as a DJ Vendor for their all inclusive packages. Im not sure how I feel about it just yet and if I am going to take them up on the offer. I think I might just hold off a little and see how things go. It all sounds like a good offer and opportunity, but there are a few things I need to consider before making a final decision.

Following the Meeting with The Abbey Catering I met with Nina and Pierre in Pacific Beach to discuss the final details of their wedding on July 18th at The Bahia.

Later that Night I went to Fenways Bar and Grill to Meet up with the Manager Jen and hung out with DJ Ish.

I had a Phone Conference with Kate Nelson for her wedding on July 31st at the Darlington House in La Jolla

Later that night Kevin Orange (Juice) came over and we worked on a few new beats, nothing finished all just ideas and concepts. It started to get late and out Creative Mind started to get fuzzy. Next week we should be good.

Monday
I had a Phone Conference with Melissa Dougherty to cover the details of her wedding on July 19th Wedding at the Catamaran. Like most of the weddings I DJ this should be a lot of fun.

Tuesday
Pretty busy day with meeting with people. I have a lunch meeting at the Elephant Bar in San Marcos with Melissa Niwata and Gerfel Noland of SoCalStunts.com. It was more of a personal lunch rather than business, but of course discussed some business as well.

I then got back to the office and had a Phone Conference Deanna Kovar for her Wedding on July 11th at Harrahs San Diego. This is a really big wedding with lots of lighting and of course they want some really good music. I can’t wait for this wedding either.

Late that night some good friends and artist friends of mine Kevin Orange (Juice) and Delano got together in my studio and made a new beat and remix.. Going to post up a sample of it a little later. Would like to get some feedback on it if possible

Wednesday
Was the Second Night of the Skybox Lounge in French Valley, and had a whole new crowd of people in there. Some regular clients but a lot of new people. I keep forgetting to take photos and video. I get so caught up in mixing the music I don’t always remember to take photos. I really need to get on top of that.. sorry Needless to say it was a really good night with all really cool people. Again the food is awesome, had some wings with ranch.. YUMMMM!!

Thursday
I met up with a good buddy Andy (DJ Felon) at his new girlfriends house for a couple drinks, I missed his birthday so I bought him a bottle of Effen Vodka and of course thats what we drank.

After Andy passed out, I went to Downtown San Diego to Fleetwood and catch up with Jason Gillroy (DJ G-Roy) and some other staff at Fleetwood. Its been quite a while since I have been there so it was good to go hang out and party.

Friday
I drove to the Mission Inn in Riverside for the Kimberly and Hamilton Jones Wedding. What a great group of people. Such an awesome wedding. Even tho we had some sound restrictions they still partied hard. They danced and danced the entire night. I was up high on a stage so I was able to get some video shots of the crowd dancing most of the night.

Saturday
I was contacted last minute for a Private party on Camp Pendleton for Steve Hasty of Advanced Entertainment and for the Coyote bar and grill in Carlsbad. The private party was a 18th b-day party and a graduation party combined. It was pretty cool. The clients made me eat and I wasn’t going to fight it, the food was awesome. The family LOVED the line dances, I think I played (BY REQUEST) Cupid Shuffle, Cha Cha Slide, and Electric Slide 4 or 5 times each.. It was a little strange playing the same songs over and over again thru-out the night but thats what the clients wanted and thats what the clients got. And they were totally happy with doing those dances more than once that evening.

That party finished up at 9pm, and then I had to pack up and drive to Carlsbad to the Coyote bar and grill to set up and start playing music at 10:30pm. Of course being that Michael Jackson passed away earlier that week I had to start the night off with an MJ song. Started the night with Off the Wall, and instantly the dance-floor got packed. and the entire night the dance-floor stayed packed. I think I played every popular MJ song known to mankind and every time a MJ song came on the crowd went ballistic. I had a great time, only complaint was that the ventilation wasn’t the best and I left like I was in a sauna. But the energy of the place was so crazy that I didn’t even care. I did take video of this night with the help of some friends, so this will be posted soon!!

Monday June 15th, I decided to drive 4 hours to St Louis, MO. It was a pretty nice drive, lots to see on the way and gave me some time to think about things, life, business, taking chances, trying new things.. all the things you can think about when you are driving by yourself. Got into the City and went to the Famous St Louis Arch. Paid the $10 to take a pod tram to the top and take some video of the city at 630 Ft in the air.. Really kind of interesting. The pods that take you up are just large enough to fit 5 sitting people in a huddle position and the very top looks like it can hold about 50 people or so. The view from that high up in a city is pretty amazing. After the tour I walked around the museum which was even more interesting. Very very cool, wish I had more time to just check it out but I was going to go meet up with a DJ Qwest and get the night life tour. Well that didnt happen, he got booked out for a gig and had to leave, so I drove around St Louis checking things out, drove across the bridge to IL, and explored a little. St Louis reminds me of Downtown LA but with much more culture and history behind it. The traffic started to pick up and get a little too crazy, so I decided to just head back.

Tuesday being my last day in Missouri, I took some time to just relax and enjoy the weather.

Wednesday I flew back to San Diego at 6am with a layover in Denver. Headed back home to play catch up on the past 2 weeks then had to get things ready to start DJ’ing at the new spot called Skybox Lounge in French Valley. Started a new night called industry night. It was a pretty good turnout, probably better than I expected. I was able to try a lot of different live mashups and remixes and get some ideas for some new remixes that I am about to produce. If you have not had the chance to go there, I would highly recommend it, even if it is just for dinner or lunch. The food is awesome, Everything on the menu is really good and the staff is super friendly.
I am going to work on getting video of the skybox and the crowd next week, This week I forgot my camera.

Friday Night I went to Coyote Bar and Grill to DJ with some friends DJ Y-erd and DJ Gary B. I will have to say a very successful night once again. Being back at a local place on the coast. I tried some new remixes and some new live mashup remixes that I wanted to test out in a smaller club before I tried to test them out in a larger venue. They rocked much better than I expected and cant wait to get them out into some of the other clubs that I play at.

This was a pretty slow week for gigs, but starting next week is going to be out of control. stay tuned to some new and exciting video and photos.
