Diving into going green and public transportation. I live .5 miles from a train station and getting to the beach couldn’t have been any easier.. No traffic, No road rage, No wear and tear on my car, No gas, and time to write things like this blog post..
Yes I am on the Sprinter as we speak. As if being on the computer all day wasn’t enough. I decided to meet a friend at the Mainstreet Oceanside Sunset Market. The Sunset Market takes place every Thursday from 5pm-9pm. Its a geat time and will write a blog post about that later.. for now its about the train…
A monthly pass is only $59 or its $2 each way, or on those days of lots of traveling they have a day pass for $5/day.
So far for me it works great for when I play basketball 3 days a week, I just ride my bike to the train station, then when I get off, my basketball destination is only .5 miles from the train station. And when I’m done, I ride my bike back then sit and relax on the train for about 13 mins.
The train starts in escondido and finishes in oceanside, only about a .5 mile to the world famous oceanside pier.. yup the one with the rubys diner on the end.
Another great stop is the vista transit center.. there is all types of good stuff near there. Krikorian Movie Theater, Sonics and one of my favorite breakfast places, the Yellow Basket.
I will admit, public transportation does have its downfalls.. You are limited on when to travel, especially at night. The last train during the week is about 8:30pm, so if you wanna be somewhere later, the train may not be a good idea. If you have to carry more than you can handle, then the train is also not a good idea.
If you can work with the time schedule the sprinter and you are just needing to get around for quick errand then I highly recommend it.
The train has Arrived at the Oceanside Transit Center and I’m off to chill and relax at the Oceanside Sunset Market!
